Watercolor painting of a beautiful Peregrine Falcon, striking in its natural grace and power. This incredible bird is the fastest animal on earth, renowned for its breathtaking hunting dive that can reach speeds of up to 200 mph.
I created this painting in 1987 while living in Boise Idaho, headquarters of the World Center for Birds of Prey. I was captivated by the idea that this bird rockets towards earth with deadly precision to knock its unsuspecting prey out of the air. Back then, I had hoped to represent these magnificent raptors through my artwork with the Center. Perhaps one day I will fully realize that vision!
