"Fence Rail Conversations"

$35.00

These cowboys were drawn during a period when I was deeply captivated by the gritty, rugged lives of settlers, pioneers, gamblers, cowpunchers, trappers, mountain men, and the many other colorful and diverse characters that made up the fabric of the old west. I rendered the drawing in a monotone palette to evoke the distinctive look and feel of early tin-type photography, aiming to capture a sense of authenticity and nostalgia.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable piece to create, and it inspired me to consider developing a series along a similar thematic line. However, my naturally eclectic style soon pulled me in different directions, and I didn’t pursue it further at the time. Still, perhaps someday I’ll revisit this subject matter with a renewed focus and a more exacting, deliberate effort to bring the old west vividly back to life on the page.
