This is a Limited-Edition run of only 250 Lithograph prints. There are approximately 125 remaining.
One of my very first watercolors, “Just a Little Wide” was created during my Senior year of high school, shortly after I had completed the painting “Peregrine.” This period of my life was marked by a deep fascination with western culture, heavily influenced by my extensive reading of Louis L’Amour’s novels.
The hazer in this intense bulldogging scene hasn’t quite done his job well, which forces the steer wrestler to really stretch out to grab ahold of horns! To give proper credit, I based this painting on a photograph I discovered in National Geographic’s “Rural America” book, and I found the image to be such a powerful rodeo action scene with contrasts that make these cowboys seem to almost burst right out of the frame, that I was immediately inspired to capture this raw energy on paper.
